The BCA is a not-for-profit trade association representing the needs of operators, partners and customers of business centres, coworking, serviced offices, managed workspace and accommodation address and virtual officer providers. The BCA promotes the sector to Government, local authorities and the wider business community.

The BCA specialises in providing support and guidance to providers of flexible serviced office space, coworking and mailbox facilities across the UK, mainland Europe, the USA and further afield. We lead the way in setting industry standards and championing excellence across the network.

All BCA members are signatories to the BCA Code of Conduct and abide by our Consumer Charter. These documents are renewed annually and demonstrate a clear commitment to professional and ethical standards, service and conduct which help distinguish BCA members from non-member operators. The vision and purpose of the BCA is to promote the flexible workspace sector and champion its members, helping to fulfill the industry's enormous potential as we undergo a seismic shift in workplace culture.

The BCA has been the voice of the industry for over 25 years, promoting a common standard of excellence across the flexible workspace sector. We will continue to be the go-to resource for both operators and consumers of flexible workspace, championing the cause and showcasing its infinite list of benefits.

Above all, the BCA has always recognised enormous potential in the flexible workspace industry. Back in the 1980s, when the sector was composed of a small but flourishing group of workspace operators, the BCA stepped up to become the much-needed voice of the sector. We set out to provide support in many different forms to workspace operators and trade suppliers, as well as to the businesses that use flexible workspace - and that is still our central objective today.

Why do we do it? Because this important, fast-growing sector requires:

  • a central body to act as a representative voice, which includes lobbying on its behalf to government, setting the standards and providing regulatory advice;
  • a resource to offer help and support to flexible workspace operators, helping them to grow their businesses and advance the sector;
  • the provision of updated documentation, such as legal guidelines and advice;
  • support for consumers, including the knowledge that the sector has a governing body;
  • on-going education in the form of annual events, learning academy masterclasses, seminars, industry updates and online documentation.

Where next? The sector is heading for great things. We are increasingly attracting new audiences and our members continue to expand and diversify, reaching new horizons with every stride. As flexible working makes its way into the mainstream, our sector has the ability to become the dominant force within the wider commercial property market. The BCA is 100% committed to the industry and offers support, guidance and advice at every step, working tirelessly to help operators and suppliers realise their full, collective potential.
